THE dress that wasn't

I discovered this dress in Massimo Dutti's online shop and went straight to the store in Oslo to try it on. I thought it would be THE dress for my brother's wedding, but it wasn't so the hunt is still on! However, I might actually go and try it on one more time as it looks so beautiful in these pics...

While trying on this dress I found an amazing leather jacket from the same brand. I'm in love!! Not so much in love with it's price tag though...

BETTER LATE THAN NEVER // BATIK RESULT

So here's the result of my dip-dye-turning-into-batik project... (sorry for the bad quality on these iphone pics..). To my surprise, the old pair of jeans I had decided to destroy use were boyfriend fit (very big boyfriend fit). Soooo.. what to do?

Well, saggy batik shorts are (in my opinion) less // crazy // hippie // ugly // strange // disturbing than saggy batik trousers, so this was my solution:

I cut the legs off by the knee (ish):

...before I rolled the fabric up to make them shorter and more fitted... and taaddaaa:

FROM A DIP DYE FAIL TO DIY BATIK

As my dip dye project failed (I tried to dye a dark blue silky shirt - no effect!), I've instead decided to follow Pollani's guide to DIY batik jeans, and make pink batik jeans in the style of Isabel Marant. Here's how it looks now:

Ingredients: Old red jeans, rubber bands, bucket,  half bottle of chlorine mixed with water.

// THE Sartorialist

The weather in Oslo these days is simply amazing. It's mid March and we look up at a blue sunny sky, it's +15 degrees (ok, it's 9 now, but it was +15  at some point yesterday!!), and all the snow is gone. I want to match this with tan skin, wavy hair and beautiful pastel coloured outfits.

A PART-TIMER'S SOLUTION TO DIP DYE FASHION

I love this shirt from Zara, and I wish I had the money to go and buy it today (part-time job = part-time salary..). My solution: An old jeans shirt, some chlorine and a bucket of water. My old shirt looks a bit like this:

Come back and see the result of my dip dye project later this week!

MARNI AND ME BECAME ZARA AND I

As expected, the one item from the H&M+Marni collection that I really wanted (and that I could afford = I need a job nooow) was the first thing to sell out.. which means I didn't get the *Marni and me moment* last week.. However *Zara and I* works as well.. I love my new trousers (399 NOK)

So soft and comfy!
